Healthcare Mobile App Development for Patients and Doctors
Android and iOS apps for hospitals, clinic groups and care providers: appointments, reminders, report access and doctor tools, built from a single codebase.
This page covers healthcare mobile app development: apps that patients or care staff install, such as a hospital patient app, a doctor's daily schedule app, or a home-care visit tracker. It is not about wellness or symptom-checking apps that make medical claims, which we do not build.
A patient app is worth building when people come back to the same provider often: follow-ups, repeat tests, long treatment, or families managing a parent's care. For a one-time visit, they will search, call and leave. Be honest about repeat use before you commit.
What healthcare providers need from a mobile app
Reminders that reduce missed visits
Appointment, medicine-time and test-preparation reminders help patients most. Notifications must be opt-in, clearly worded and never show sensitive details on a locked screen.
Privacy built into the phone experience
Optional app lock, automatic logout and no medical details in notification text protect users who share a phone with family. Store only what the feature needs.
Usable by older and less technical users
Large buttons, few steps, Hindi and Marathi options and a visible call-us button matter. Many users are family members managing care for a parent, not the patient.
Works on modest phones and networks
Hospital basements and rural areas have weak signal. The app should be small, cache what is needed, and fail clearly when offline.
What we build for healthcare apps
Patient app for a hospital or clinic group
Phone-number login, appointment booking, past visits, report downloads and payment of bills through UPI. It connects to your hospital or clinic system, or to a backend we build.
Doctor schedule app
Doctors see the day's appointments, patient history summary and can mark visits complete. Notifications warn of cancellations and late arrivals.
Home sample collection and care visit app
For labs and home-care providers: staff see assigned visits on a map, confirm arrival and update status, and the patient receives a tracking link. Works with poor signal.
Chronic care follow-up app
Patients log readings such as blood sugar or blood pressure as they themselves record them, and the care team views trends. We present data, we do not interpret or advise on it.
What it costs
Price depends on integration with your hospital system, number of user types, payments and the backend behind the app. Store developer account fees are paid by you directly.
Questions we get asked
Will the Play Store approve a health app?
Yes, if the app is clearly a service tool and complies with policy. Health apps may be asked for a privacy policy and extra declarations about data use. We prepare these, but you remain responsible for the accuracy of what you declare.
Can the app store reports and prescriptions?
It can show them, usually fetched from your backend instead of kept on the phone. Files are served over secure connections to the logged-in patient only. Where reports are stored and for how long is a policy decision for you and your adviser.
Do we need separate Android and iOS apps?
Not as separate builds. We use Flutter or React Native so one codebase serves both, which reduces cost. Android is the larger audience in India, and iOS is often added in the same release.
Can we add video consultation later?
Yes, by integrating a video calling service. It adds recurring service cost and needs care over consent and recording rules. We suggest launching with booking and records first, then adding video once usage proves the need.
