Custom Software Development for Jewellery Businesses

Software built around how your jewellery business actually runs: stock by weight, workshop jobs, repairs and branch transfers.

This page covers custom software development for jewellers, manufacturers and wholesalers. It is for businesses where an off-the-shelf billing package covers the counter but not the workshop, the repair desk or the multi-branch picture. We build the missing pieces such as workshop ledgers, repair tracking and branch reports, and connect them to the billing you already use.

Jewellery accounting is gram-based as well as rupee-based. Metal is issued to karigars, returned as finished pieces and scrap, and wastage is negotiated. Many shops hold this in notebooks and one trusted person's memory. Software makes the process visible and survives staff changes. Because the people at the counter and in the workshop have different habits, we map each role's daily routine before drawing any screen.

What jewellers need from custom software

01

Weight ledgers beside money ledgers

Fine gold in and out, by karigar and by job, needs its own ledger. Reconciling metal as carefully as cash prevents slow, silent losses.

02

Repair and order tracking

Customers leave pieces for repair or custom work and expect a status. A token system and tracking avoid lost items and repeated calls.

03

Branch-wise visibility

Owners want to see stock, sales and pending jobs per branch without calling each manager. Reports should be ready each morning.

04

Fits existing billing

Counter billing software is often already in place. New tools should exchange data with it rather than force a switch.

What we build for jewellery operations

01

Karigar metal and job ledger

Issue, receipt, wastage and labour per karigar and job, with running balances and reconciliation reports.

02

Repair desk

Intake with photos and weights, a token for the customer, status updates and delivery records, with notification by WhatsApp message.

03

Multi-branch stock dashboard

Stock by branch and counter, transfers in transit and slow-moving designs, with exports for your accountant.

04

Billing software bridge

Scheduled exchange of sales, purchases and stock data with your existing billing system or Tally, depending on what that system supports.

When this is the wrong choice. If a jewellery ERP already covers your counter, workshop and branches well, buy or keep it. Custom software is worth it only for the gaps that a packaged product cannot reach.

What it costs

Starts at ₹1,50,000 (excl. GST)

This is the custom software anchor, excl. GST. Modules, branches, label and barcode printing, and integration with existing billing decide the final quote.

Questions we get asked

Is custom software better than a jewellery ERP?

Only where an ERP does not fit. Packaged jewellery ERPs handle counter billing and stock well. Custom software suits odd workshop flows, unusual schemes or portals. We usually recommend keeping what works and building the missing piece. We tell you honestly if a packaged product will do.

Can it track metal given to karigars?

Yes. Each issue and return is recorded by weight and purity against a karigar and job, with wastage allowed per your agreement. Running balances show who holds how much metal, and reports flag differences for you to review. Wastage rules are yours to set; the system only applies them.

Can we print labels and barcodes for tags?

Yes, using common label printers. Tag labels can carry design code, weight and purity, and be scanned during stock checks. We confirm your printer model and label size in discovery before building. Cheap thermal label printers are usually fine.

What if our staff are not comfortable with software?

Adoption is a design issue. We keep screens short, use your own terms and, where useful, support Hindi or Marathi labels. A pilot at one counter first lets staff get used to it before wider rollout. Training in the workshop, in Hindi or Marathi, is part of rollout.
