Legal Mobile App Development for Advocates and Clients

Android and iOS apps for law firms and legal services, built from one codebase: hearing alerts, client updates, document upload and consultations.

This page covers legal mobile app development: apps used by advocates in court corridors and by clients on their phones. Common examples are an advocate diary with hearing alerts, a client app showing case status and document requests, and a consultation app connecting users with lawyers. It covers both advocate-side and client-side apps, and when each one is worth building at all.

Advocates work in short gaps between hearings, often with weak signal. Clients want to know the next date without calling. A mobile app helps when the daily use is real, but it adds cost, store approval and upkeep. We help you decide whether an app, a web portal or a WhatsApp flow does the job. That honest comparison comes first, and we will say so if the answer is not an app.

What legal practices need from a mobile app

01

Offline-friendly diary

Court complexes often have poor reception. The advocate's app should show today's list and notes offline and sync when signal returns.

02

Push alerts that matter

Next-hearing, adjournment and deadline alerts are the main reason to install an app. They must be reliable and sent to the right person.

03

Document capture on the phone

Clients photograph papers and send them. The app should compress, label and attach them to the matter rather than lose them in a chat.

04

Identity and privacy on shared devices

Phones are lost, shared and borrowed. App lock, session expiry and remote logout protect client data.

What we build for legal mobile apps

01

Advocate diary app

Today's matters, next dates, notes and quick adjournment entry with offline support. Data syncs with your firm's web system.

02

Client case status app

OTP login, case stage, next hearing date and a request list for documents. Only information you approve is visible.

03

Consultation booking and payment

Choose a slot, pay by UPI and join a call or visit. A fee receipt with GST is issued when applicable.

04

Scan and upload

Camera capture with edge cleanup and page ordering, tagged to a matter. Files upload over weak networks and resume if interrupted.

When this is the wrong choice. If your clients rarely need updates and your team is small, WhatsApp plus a web portal is cheaper. A marketplace for finding lawyers also needs supply and professional-rule review before an app makes sense.

What it costs

Starts at ₹2,00,000 (excl. GST)

A mobile app MVP typically takes 10-12 weeks. Store accounts, SMS or OTP charges and hosting are running costs outside the build price. Hosting, push notification services and developer account fees are separate running costs.

Questions we get asked

Do advocates really use apps, or is WhatsApp enough?

For a solo advocate, WhatsApp and a calendar are often enough. An app earns its place for firms with many matters, juniors and clients who need the next date quickly. We test the idea with a small pilot before a full build.

Can the app work without internet in court?

Yes, for reading and note entry. The app stores recent matters on the phone and syncs when the connection returns. Conflicts, such as two people editing the same note, are handled with clear rules shown to the user.

Can we build a lawyer-finding marketplace app?

Technically yes, but advertising and solicitation rules for advocates are strict, so discuss the model with your Bar Council or adviser first. We can build the app once the rules allow your approach. We do not give legal advice on this.

Do you publish the app on Play Store and App Store?

We prepare listings, privacy policy links and the data safety form, and submit under your developer accounts. Store review time and decisions belong to Google and Apple. Apps handling sensitive data should be described carefully and truthfully.
