Custom Software Development in Howrah
Order tracking, job cards, stock and billing software for Howrah businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets. Built to match how your floor and counter actually work.
We are a Pune and Nashik software studio, and we build custom software for Howrah businesses remotely. A discovery call and a few screen-share sessions on your own sheets and registers are usually enough to scope the work. You do not need to visit Pune, and we do not need an office near you.
Howrah's older industrial base means many firms run on decades of process knowledge that lives in a few people's heads, a Tally file and a set of Excel sheets. That works until a key person leaves, a client asks for a delivery report, or stock stops matching the books.
Custom software is worth it when your process is unusual or when packaged tools force you to change a method that works. It is not worth it when an off-the-shelf billing package already does the job. We say so plainly on the first call.
Where Howrah firms actually need custom software
Job work and fabrication shops
A workshop handling many small jobs needs a job card per order, with material issued, stages completed and delivery date. Paper cards get lost and clients keep calling to ask status. A simple web system with a shared status screen cuts those calls.
Foundry and casting units
Batches, heats and rejections matter more than invoices alone. Software can record each batch, link it to the customer order and show rejection rates over a month. We build only the fields you track, not a generic factory suite.
Distributors and traders
Firms that supply to many shops struggle with outstanding payments and salesman routes. A small app for orders on the road, linked to a ledger view, helps owners see who owes what. It can export to Tally so your accountant keeps the current workflow.
Logistics and transport operators
Howrah's position as a transport hub means many small operators handle consignments and driver payments by hand. A booking, lorry receipt and trip settlement system reduces disputes. Keep the first version small, covering bookings and payments before anything else.
How we work with Howrah clients
Start from your own paperwork
We ask to see your registers, challans and sheets in the first week. Screens are drawn from those, so your staff recognise them and training is short.
IST hours, Hindi and English calls
Calls run in Indian business hours. For larger projects we can travel to Kolkata for a floor walk-through before design begins.
You own the code
You get a fixed written quote after the free discovery call, a GST invoice and the source code on completion. One month of support follows launch.
What it costs
The starting price fits a focused system with a few user roles and core workflows. Anything larger is quoted after a discovery call once the scope is written down.
- Number of user roles and screens
- Reports and Tally or accounting export
- Mobile or tablet use on the shop floor
- Data migration from old sheets
Prices exclude 18% GST. Every quote is fixed and written.
Howrah questions
Is custom software better than Tally customisation for a Howrah factory?
Tally is good for accounts. It is weak at job tracking, shop floor status and customer portals. Many firms keep Tally and add custom software beside it, with an export between them. We suggest this route first because it avoids a risky full replacement.
How do you handle our old Excel data?
We review the sheets, clean obvious errors with you and import them in a test run before go-live. You check a sample against your records. Messy data is the most common cause of delay, so we flag problems early rather than discover them at launch.
Can the system work if our internet is unreliable?
Yes, if we plan for it. Key screens can cache data and sync later, and critical entries can be saved locally on a tablet. We ask about connectivity at the shop and godown during discovery and design around real conditions.
Will staff accept a new system?
Adoption is the main risk, not the code. We involve your supervisors in design reviews, keep screens close to current paper forms and run training in Hindi. We also suggest a short period where both paper and software run together.
Do you work with small Howrah firms with a single owner?
Yes. A small firm often gains the most, since the owner is usually the person chasing every order. We start with the one process that wastes the most time and quote that alone, so you are not paying for a large system you will not use.
