Hotel Mobile App Development for Guests and Staff
A guest app or staff app for resorts and hotel groups where guests stay long enough, or return often enough, to use it.
This page covers mobile apps for hotels: a guest app for bookings, in-stay requests and loyalty, or a staff app for housekeeping, maintenance and room service. Both can be built once and shipped to Android and iOS. We help you test the idea before you commit to a build. Both are real options.
Be honest about the first question. A guest staying one night rarely installs a hotel app. An app pays off for groups with repeat guests, resorts with long stays and many in-property services, and for staff who work all day on the move. Choose by guest type, not by what other hotels announced.
What hotels need from a mobile app
A reason to install
Guests install an app for something clear, such as a room key, spa booking, restaurant ordering or a loyalty balance. Without that, the download never happens.
In-stay requests that reach staff
Towels, late checkout and room service requests must land with the right team immediately. An app that only shows a phone number adds nothing.
Loyalty and repeat booking
A direct app with member rates and a stay history helps repeat guests skip portals. The loyalty rules must be simple enough for the front desk to honour.
Staff tools that work on any phone
Housekeepers and engineers use their own budget Android phones. Large buttons, photos for issues and offline task lists matter more than polish.
What we build for hotel apps
Guest app
Booking, booking history, pre-arrival details, digital check-in form and in-stay requests. Payments go through a gateway with UPI supported.
Resort services module
Spa, activity and restaurant bookings with time slots and capacity limits. Staff confirm or adjust from their own screen.
Loyalty and offers
Member tiers, points or stay credits as you define them, and offers shown by season. We keep rules simple so staff can explain them.
Staff task app
Housekeeping, maintenance and request queues with photos and status updates. Managers see completion times without chasing people.
What it costs
One codebase in Flutter or React Native covers Android and iOS. Integration with your property system, digital check-in and payment features affect the quote, which we fix in writing after a call.
Questions we get asked
Will guests actually download a hotel app?
Only with a clear reason. Repeat guests, long-stay resort visitors and those with in-property services will. For one-night guests, a mobile website is usually enough. We help you judge this before you spend. A survey of past guests helps decide.
Can the app open rooms with a phone?
That depends on your door lock vendor and whether they provide an SDK. It is possible with some systems and not with others. We check lock compatibility in discovery before promising it. Hardware support is the deciding factor.
Is digital check-in compliant for foreign guests?
Guest identity records and reporting have legal requirements that differ for Indian and foreign guests. We can build the data capture, but you must confirm the rules with your legal adviser and local authority guidance. We build only the data capture and leave interpretation to you.
How long before it appears on the stores?
An MVP takes roughly 10 to 12 weeks. Play Store and App Store reviews add days. We recommend a staff-only pilot at your property first, so problems appear before guests see them. We recommend a staff pilot first.
