Insurance Mobile App Development for Agencies and Brokers

A Flutter or React Native app, one codebase for Android and iOS, for agents in the field or policyholders who want their cover on their phone.

This page covers insurance mobile app development for agencies, brokers and advisory networks. The app can serve field agents, customers or both. It is not a replacement for the insurer's own claim and policy systems.

An app makes sense when people open it often or need the phone's camera, notifications and offline access. Insurance is a once-a-year product for most customers, so a customer app must earn its place. A field agent app is easier to justify, since agents sit in customers' homes and need records at hand.

What insurance apps need to get right

01

A reason to open the app

Policyholders will not keep an app that only shows a policy number. Useful pieces are a document wallet, renewal alerts, a hospital-network search link and one-tap claim assistance.

02

Field-agent usability

Agents work between meetings on small screens and patchy data. Lead entry must take under a minute, and records should sync when the network returns.

03

KYC and document capture

Taking a clear photo of an ID or cheque on a phone is faster than scanning. Capture needs edge detection, size limits and secure upload.

04

Play Store and App Store review

Finance and health related apps get closer scrutiny. Privacy policy, data-use declarations and account deletion paths have to be correct before submission.

What we build for insurance apps

01

Agent field app

Lead capture, customer visit notes, document photos and a renewal call list. Works offline and syncs later, with push reminders for follow-ups.

02

Policyholder document wallet

Customers see policies you have added, with expiry dates and insurer helpline numbers. Downloads are protected by login and device checks.

03

Renewal and event notifications

Push alerts and WhatsApp messages for renewal windows, birthdays or document gaps, sent through approved channels. Customers can opt out.

04

Admin back office

A web panel where your staff add policies, send notices and view usage. This is where most of the effort and value sit.

When this is the wrong choice. If your customers meet you once a year and your agents are fine on WhatsApp, a mobile web app or website is cheaper and enough. Do not build a customer app just because a competitor has one. Ask us during discovery and we will say plainly if a cheaper route fits your size and budget better, even if it means a smaller project for us.

What it costs

Starts at ₹2,00,000 (excl. GST) for a mobile app

A first version usually takes 10-12 weeks. Offline sync, KYC capture, multiple roles and integrations raise cost, so we quote in writing after discovery.

Questions we get asked

Should we build for agents or for customers first?

Agents first, in most cases. They use it daily, the benefit shows in weeks, and you control the rollout. A customer app needs outside adoption and a steady reason to open it. Start with the agent app, then add a customer wallet once records are clean.

Can a mobile app show claim status?

Only the status you record, or what an insurer shares through an authorised feed. We do not read insurer systems without permission. Many advisers show a timeline updated by their own claims desk, with a button that calls the insurer helpline.

Will the app work on old Android phones?

Yes, we test on low-end Android devices and keep screens light. Agents in smaller towns often use phones with limited storage, so we keep the install size modest and avoid heavy animation. We also test on Android 10 and above.

Who owns the code and the customer data?

You own the code and the data. We hand over source, build files and store accounts at launch. Your Play Console and Apple developer accounts are registered in your company name so you are not tied to us.
