Custom Software Development for Fashion & Apparel
Back-office software for apparel businesses whose stock, production and job-work do not fit into a generic ERP.
This page covers custom software development for fashion and apparel businesses: internal systems for stock, production and vendors. It is aimed at manufacturers, export houses and growing labels running on spreadsheets, Tally and phone calls. Customers never see this software. Your staff use it every day. Staff on the cutting floor and in accounts both need to find it usable.
Apparel operations carry odd complexity. One style turns into many SKUs, fabric is bought in metres and consumed in pieces, and much stitching goes to outside job-workers. Standard ERPs either charge for modules you will not use or do not model this properly. Custom software can, if the scope is tight.
What apparel operations need from software
Stock by style, size and colour
A single view of finished stock across warehouse, shops and online channels. Without it, the same piece is sold twice or shows out of stock when it is not.
Fabric and trim tracking
Fabric in metres, trims in units, with wastage recorded per cut. This lets you cost a style from real consumption instead of an estimate made months ago.
Job-work and vendor control
Stitching, embroidery and washing are often outsourced. You need to see what was issued, what returned, who is late and what to pay.
Reports your accountant accepts
Stock valuation, purchase and sales summaries that match what goes into Tally and GST returns, with fewer manual corrections.
What we build for apparel businesses
Style and SKU master with stock
One place to define styles with size and colour variants, with stock movements across locations. A barcode-label printing option can be added.
Production and job-work tracker
Issue fabric to a vendor, record received pieces and rejects, and see pending work by vendor. Payment dues are calculated from received quantities.
Costing sheet by style
Fabric, trims, labour and overheads per piece, using your recorded rates. When fabric prices change, you see which styles lose margin.
Sync with store and accounts
Stock updates flow to your Shopify or WooCommerce store, and invoices export to Tally. Integration depth depends on what each tool exposes.
What it costs
Price depends on the number of modules, user roles and integrations. We write the scope in plain language before quoting, so you can see what is in and out.
Questions we get asked
Why not just buy an off-the-shelf ERP for my garment unit?
If one fits your process, buy it. Off-the-shelf is cheaper to start. Custom software makes sense when job-work, size curves or your costing method need workarounds in the ERP, or when licence costs per user are high.
Can the software replace my Excel sheets without retraining everyone?
We mirror your existing sheet columns and terms in the screens, so staff recognise them. We usually migrate current data in and run both for a short period. Training is short because the screens follow your process.
Will it work if my workshop has weak internet?
It can. Stitching floors with poor signal can use a lightweight web screen or an app that stores entries and syncs later. We confirm connectivity during discovery and design for the weakest location. We run a short trial period before the old sheets are retired.
Who owns the software and data after delivery?
You do. You own the code and data, and we provide documentation and a one-month post-launch support period. Hosting accounts are set up in your name where possible, so you are not locked in. Ask for the repository handover in writing.
