Logistics and transport software development for Indian fleets and 3PLs
Dispatch boards, driver apps, trip tracking and freight billing for transporters, courier firms and warehouse operators.
A transport business runs on phone calls. The owner calls the driver, the driver calls the consignee, and the accountant reconstructs the trip from a diary at month end. Logistics and transport software development starts by putting trips, vehicles and payments on one screen, so fewer calls are needed and fewer trips go unbilled.
NioDelta is a software studio in Pune, close to the Mumbai-Pune freight corridor and the industrial belts around it. We build dispatch tools, driver apps and billing systems for transporters and logistics firms, designed for drivers on basic phones and patchy networks. We pilot on a few vehicles first, so you see the benefit before a full rollout.
Where transport businesses lose time and money
Trips tracked on phone and paper
Which truck is where, which load is pending, who has the POD? Answers are scattered across calls and WhatsApp photos, so customers keep calling for status.
Billing lags behind delivery
Freight bills wait for proof of delivery, detention charges and extra points. Delays in billing mean delays in cash, which a small fleet feels immediately.
Drivers on weak networks
Highways and rural stretches lose signal. An app that needs constant internet fails exactly when the driver needs it.
Compliance paperwork
E-way bills, vehicle documents, insurance and driver licence expiry dates must be tracked. A missed renewal can stop a vehicle on the road.
What we build for logistics and transport firms
Dispatch and trip management
Create loads, assign vehicles and drivers, and track status from loading to delivery on one board. Owners see utilisation and idle vehicles at a glance.
Driver app
A light Android app that works offline, captures POD photos, records stops and syncs when the network returns. Language options include Hindi and Marathi.
Live tracking
Vehicle location from GPS devices or the driver's phone on a map, with shareable tracking links for customers. Accuracy depends on the device and network used.
Freight billing
Bills based on route, weight and agreed rates, with detention and extra charges, GST invoices and ledger by party. Payments and outstanding are visible by customer.
Fleet and compliance reminders
Expiry alerts for insurance, fitness, permit, PUC and licence, plus service schedules and tyre records per vehicle.
Customer tracking portal
Consignors log in to see shipments, download PODs and invoices, and raise queries, which cuts status calls to your office.
How a logistics build runs
Discover
We ride along in the process: how a load is booked, assigned, delivered and billed. We collect a sample bill, a POD and a trip sheet.
Define
We list roles such as dispatcher, driver, accountant and customer, plus rate rules and the integrations needed. The written scope follows.
Design
The driver app gets large buttons and few steps. The dispatcher board is designed for a desk with many open trips.
Build
We build the web panel and the driver app together and test offline use on actual low-end phones, including a bad network.
Ship & extend
We pilot with a few vehicles first, then roll out and support for one month. Warehouse or route optimisation can be added later.
What it costs
A web-based dispatch and billing system starts at ₹1,50,000 and a mobile app at ₹2,00,000. Final price depends on rate rules, devices and integrations, and is fixed after discovery.
- Number of roles and vehicles
- Rate and billing rules
- GPS device integration
- Offline driver app features
- Customer portal and API links
All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.
Questions we get asked
Does the driver app work without internet?
Yes. The app stores trip updates and POD photos on the phone and uploads them when the network returns. We test it on low-end Android phones and in poor coverage, because that is the real condition on most routes.
Can you integrate with GPS trackers?
Many GPS vendors offer APIs, and we can pull location from them. If you have no tracker, the driver app can share location, which uses more phone battery. We check your devices in discovery. Battery use and location accuracy both vary by phone, so we measure on your actual drivers' devices before rollout.
Can the system handle e-way bills?
We can integrate with the GST e-way bill system through an approved provider, so details are filled once and reused. This needs a provider account and credentials from you, and the cost of that provider is separate.
Can customers track their own shipments?
Yes. Consignors can have a portal login or a link per shipment showing status, POD and invoice. This reduces status calls and is easy to start with a few key customers. The link shows status only, so customers cannot see other parties' loads or your rates.
Will it work for a small transporter?
If the pain is billing and follow-up, yes. A smaller build with trips, parties and invoices can be enough. We scope only what you need now and leave room for tracking and apps later. You can add GPS, customer portals and driver apps in later phases, as billing and trip data begin to pay off.
Do you build route optimisation?
We can integrate mapping APIs for distance and route suggestions. Advanced optimisation for large fleets is a bigger project and would be quoted separately after a discovery call. Most fleets get the larger gains from fixing dispatch and billing first, so we usually start there.
