NGO Website and App Development for Trusts and Non-Profits

Donation flows, 80G receipts, volunteer portals and funder reports for trusts, societies and Section 8 companies. Built so your small team spends less time on paperwork.

NGO website and app development in India comes with obligations most business sites do not have. Donors expect a receipt they can use for tax claims, institutional funders ask for utilisation reports, and foreign contributions bring their own rules. A site that only has a donate button creates work for your accountant later.

NioDelta is a Pune studio that has been building software since 2017. For non-profits we focus on the unglamorous parts: donor records, receipts, volunteer coordination and reports. The public website still has to tell your story well, but the back office is where staff time is saved. Expect questions about your registrations and your accountant's needs early on.

What non-profit teams struggle with online

01

Receipts done by hand

Someone in the office types each 80G receipt into a Word template after checking the bank statement. Donations from UPI, cheque and cash each follow a different path, and numbering errors appear at year end.

02

Donor data scattered

Donor names sit in Excel files, WhatsApp groups and payment gateway dashboards. Nobody can say who gave twice, who lapsed or who asked for a receipt that never arrived.

03

Volunteers hard to coordinate

Event sign-ups come through forms, and attendance is on paper. Hours worked, which CSR partners may ask for, are reconstructed from memory.

04

Funder reporting takes weeks

Corporate CSR partners want photos, beneficiary counts and spending against the approved budget. Collecting this from field staff by WhatsApp is slow and unreliable.

NGO website and app development, built around receipts and reports

01

Donation pages with UPI and cards

One-time and monthly giving through Razorpay or a similar gateway, with PAN capture where a tax receipt needs it. Donors can pick a cause or campaign, and the money is tagged accordingly.

02

Automatic 80G receipts

If your organisation holds the registration, receipts generate with the right numbering, your registration details and the donor's PAN. Your accountant exports the year's donations in the format needed for donor statements.

03

Foreign contribution handling

Separate flows and records for foreign donations if you are registered under the FCRA. Rules are specific, so your compliance advisor signs off the design before it goes live.

04

Volunteer portal

Sign-up, role matching, shift booking, attendance by QR or check-in and a running tally of hours. Coordinators message groups without sharing personal numbers.

05

Programme and beneficiary tracker

Field staff log activities, beneficiaries and photos from a simple mobile app that works with weak signal. Data feeds funder reports in a format you define.

06

Website that tells the story

Programme pages, annual reports, financial statements and a transparency section. Pages are written for donors reading on a phone, in English, Hindi or Marathi.

When this is the wrong choice. If you are a small trust that receives a few dozen donations a year, a simple website with a bank and UPI QR block and a manually issued receipt is enough. Build donor software only when receipt volume or reporting load is hurting you. Registrations such as 12A or 80G come from the tax department, not from any website.

How an NGO project runs

01

Discover

We talk to the people who issue receipts, run programmes and write funder reports. We note your registrations, your accountant's needs and existing records.

02

Define

The scope lists donation types, receipt rules, user roles and reports, with a fixed quote. Anything needing legal sign-off is flagged.

03

Design

Simple pages and large tap targets for donors and field staff who are not used to apps. Languages are decided here.

04

Build

Donation flow and receipts first, then volunteer and programme modules. We test with sample donations and your accountant's checklist.

05

Ship & extend

Launch, staff training and a month of support. Typical next steps are recurring donor campaigns, an impact dashboard or a field app.

What it costs

Websites start at ₹45,000; donor systems quoted after a call

An NGO website with donation pages starts at ₹45,000, and a custom donor and volunteer web app starts at ₹1,50,000. Receipt rules, field apps and reporting needs shape the final quote.

  • Receipt and registration rules
  • Number of programmes and user roles
  • Field mobile app yes or no
  • Languages
  • Funder report formats

Questions we get asked

Can the website issue 80G receipts automatically?

Yes, if your organisation holds a valid 80G registration. Receipts generate on successful payment with serial numbers, your registration details and the donor's PAN. Your accountant should review the format before launch, since requirements can change.

Do you handle FCRA foreign contributions?

We can build separate donation flows and records for foreign contributions. The legal rules around bank accounts, reporting and permitted use are for your compliance advisor to confirm. We build what they specify and do not give legal advice.

What payment methods can donors use?

UPI, cards, net banking and wallets through a gateway like Razorpay, plus bank transfer details for large gifts. UPI matters most, since many Indian donors prefer it. Gateway fees apply and are charged by the gateway, not by us.

Is donor data safe under the new data protection law?

We collect only what receipts and communication need, record consent, restrict who can view donor details and let donors ask for deletion where the law allows. Final compliance depends on your policies, which we help you document on the site.

Can field staff use it with poor internet?

Yes. The field app stores entries on the phone and syncs when a signal returns. Screens are kept simple, with Hindi or Marathi labels if your team prefers them, and photos are compressed before upload.

Can we reuse the site for CSR funder reports?

Yes. Programme data entered by field staff can produce summary pages and downloadable reports with beneficiary counts, photos and spending against budget. The format is set in the scope, based on what your funders ask for.
