Travel and Tourism Website and App Development for Tour Operators

Itinerary builders, package booking and agent portals for tour operators, DMCs, taxi and homestay businesses. Built for enquiry-heavy sales that close on WhatsApp.

Travel and tourism website and app development has a different shape from retail. Most customers do not add a package to a cart. They ask for a quote, compare three agents on WhatsApp, and book weeks later. A site that only shows brochures and a contact form leaves that conversation to chance.

NioDelta, a Pune studio working since 2017, builds booking and quoting systems for tour operators, destination managers and travel agents. We start from how you build an itinerary and price it, because that is where hours disappear, and design the website and apps around it. Expect questions about suppliers, rate sheets and payment terms in the first call.

What slows down travel businesses online

01

Quotes built by hand

Each enquiry means copying hotel rates, transfers and sightseeing into a document. A repeat itinerary takes the same hour as a new one, and mistakes in rates cost real money.

02

Seasonal price changes

Hotel and transport rates shift by season and event dates. If the website shows last year's prices, you either lose the lead or honour a number you cannot afford.

03

Agent and customer confusion

Sub-agents need net rates and credit terms while customers need retail prices. Mixing both in one price list leaks margins.

04

Payment and cancellation disputes

Part payments, refund rules and tax on overseas packages need clear display at checkout. Vague terms lead to chargebacks and angry reviews.

Our travel and tourism website and app development work

01

Package and destination website

Destination pages, fixed-departure listings, inclusions and exclusions, day-wise plans and a quote request that captures dates, group size and budget. Pages stay fast on mobile data in hill areas and airports.

02

Itinerary builder for staff

Pick hotels, transfers and activities from your own rate sheet and generate a branded PDF or web itinerary. Seasonal rate tables mean the same itinerary re-prices itself.

03

Booking engine with part payment

Hold a departure seat with a deposit through UPI, cards or net banking, and collect the balance later. Cancellation slabs are shown before payment and enforced in the system.

04

Agent portal

Sub-agents log in to see net rates, availability and credit limits, and raise bookings themselves. You see which agent sells what, without handing out price lists on WhatsApp.

05

Customer trip app

Voucher wallet, day-wise itinerary offline, driver and guide contact, and trip-day notifications. Useful for group tours where one coordinator answers fifty similar questions.

06

Supplier and API connections

Where a hotel, flight or activity supplier offers an API, we can connect it. Supplier accounts and fees are outside our quote and are listed as dependencies.

When this is the wrong choice. If you sell a handful of fixed tours and take bookings by phone, a clean business website with enquiry buttons is enough. A full booking engine pays off only when you run many departures or sub-agents. Competing with large online travel portals on flight and hotel search is not a sensible first project.

How a travel project runs

01

Discover

We follow one real enquiry from first message to final voucher, including who prices what and where files are kept. We also list suppliers and payment methods.

02

Define

The written scope fixes itinerary fields, rate rules, deposit and refund logic and who can see which price. You get a fixed quote.

03

Design

Itinerary and package pages designed for people comparing options on a phone. Agent screens are separate and plain.

04

Build

Rate tables and the quote generator come first so staff can test with real data. Payment sandbox testing happens before any live money moves.

05

Ship & extend

Launch with staff training and a month of support. Later additions include supplier APIs, a trip app or multi-language pages.

What it costs

Websites start at ₹45,000; booking systems quoted after a call

A travel business website starts at ₹45,000 and a web app for itineraries and agent access starts at ₹1,50,000. Rate-sheet complexity and supplier integrations move the final quote.

  • Itinerary builder depth
  • Number of agent roles
  • Payment and deposit rules
  • Supplier API connections
  • Customer app yes or no

All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.

Questions we get asked

Can staff build itineraries without a developer?

Yes. We build an internal itinerary tool where your team picks hotels, transfers and activities from your rate sheet, and the system generates a branded PDF or web link. Rates update from tables your staff edit, so no developer is needed for seasonal changes.

How are overseas package taxes handled?

Tax rules on overseas tour packages, including tax collected at source, depend on current law and your registration. We build fields to show and record these charges, but your chartered accountant confirms the rules and rates before launch.

Can agents see different prices from customers?

Yes. Agents log in with their own accounts, see net rates and credit limits, and book directly. Public visitors see only retail prices. Every price change is logged, so you can trace which rate an agent used.

Do you connect to flight or hotel supplier APIs?

If the supplier gives you API access, yes. Many require approval, a deposit or monthly minimums, which sit outside our quote. We confirm access in the discovery call so the scope reflects what you can actually use.

Will the site work for customers on weak mobile networks?

We build lightweight pages, compress images and keep key details such as itinerary and vouchers available offline in the app. Many travellers check bookings at airports or hill stations, so slow connections are treated as normal.

How are cancellations and refunds shown?

Cancellation slabs, such as the amount refundable by days before departure, appear on the package page and at checkout, and the customer accepts them before paying. Refunds are triggered from the admin panel to the original payment method.
