IoT app development that connects your devices to people

Mobile apps, cloud back ends and dashboards for connected devices, built around what the hardware can actually do. For product makers, installers and plant owners in India.

An IoT product has three parts. The device, the cloud, and the app people hold. Most delays happen at the joins between them. A sensor sends data in a format the cloud was not ready for, or a Bluetooth pairing works on one phone and fails on a cheap Android. Our work is the cloud and app side, and the careful agreement at each join.

We do not design circuit boards or write low-level firmware. We work with your hardware team or vendor, define the message format and pairing flow together, and build the apps and dashboards that sit on top. That clear boundary keeps blame games out of the project. Both teams then test against the same written document.

What makes IoT apps hard in practice

01

Bluetooth that behaves differently on every phone

BLE pairing, background connections and permissions change between Android versions and brands. We test on a spread of low-cost devices common in India, not only a flagship, and plan reconnection logic from the start.

02

Patchy connectivity at the site

Farms, godowns and factory floors have weak signal. Devices must buffer readings, resend safely and avoid duplicate records. We design for gaps, not for perfect networks.

03

Unclear ownership between hardware and software

When firmware and app teams are different companies, bugs bounce between them. We write an interface document covering payloads, timing and error codes, and both sides test against it.

04

Dashboards nobody reads

Twenty charts do not help an operator. We ask what decision each person makes daily, and show that number, with alerts for the few conditions that need action.

IoT app development services

01

Mobile apps for BLE and Wi-Fi devices

Flutter or React Native apps that scan, pair, configure and read from devices, with clear states for connecting, offline and failed. One codebase covers Android and iPhone.

02

MQTT and HTTP cloud back ends

Message brokers, device registries, authentication per device and storage for time-series readings. We choose managed services or self-hosted brokers based on your volume and budget.

03

Web dashboards and alerts

Live status, history charts, threshold alerts and exports. Alerts reach people by push notification, WhatsApp or email, depending on who must react and how quickly.

04

Device onboarding and fleet tools

QR-based claiming, installer apps for field staff, and admin screens to see which devices are online, their last reading and their software version.

05

Firmware update flow, app side

We build the app and server parts of over-the-air updates: version checks, download, progress and rollback messages. The firmware code stays with your hardware team.

06

Integrations and reports

Connections to billing, ERP or maintenance tickets, and scheduled reports in PDF or Excel for customers who still want them on email.

When this is the wrong choice. If you have not yet proved the hardware works, build the device prototype first and use a ready dashboard tool for the demo. A custom app too early locks in decisions that the hardware may change. Also, if the data only needs a spreadsheet once a week, a connected app is overkill.

How an IoT project runs

01

Discover

We study the device spec, connectivity options and the people who will use the data. A working sample device, or at least a simulator, is needed from here on.

02

Define

We freeze the message format, pairing steps, alert rules and roles in writing. This interface document is signed off by hardware and software owners.

03

Design

Screens for connection states, errors and empty data are designed along with the happy path. Cloud design covers device identity and how data is retained.

04

Build

We build against a simulator first, then real devices, and test on a set of low-end and mid-range Android phones plus an iPhone. Field tests at the actual site come before launch.

05

Ship & extend

We publish the app, set up monitoring for device and server health, and support the first month. New device types are added as separate scoped work.

What it costs

Quoted after a discovery call; mobile apps start at ₹2,00,000 (excl. GST)

The price depends on device types, connectivity and how much cloud work sits behind the app. A signed interface document lets us fix the quote.

  • Number of device models and protocols
  • BLE complexity and OS coverage
  • Real-time needs and data volume
  • Dashboard and alert depth
  • Field testing travel, if needed

All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.

Questions we get asked

Do you write the device firmware too?

No. We build the mobile app, cloud and dashboard, and work with your firmware engineers or vendor on the interface. This keeps accountability clean. If you need a firmware partner, we can discuss options, but we do not claim embedded work as part of our delivery.

Should we use MQTT or plain HTTP?

MQTT suits devices that send small, frequent messages on weak networks, and it supports commands back to the device. HTTP is simpler for devices that report rarely. We decide in discovery based on battery, signal and message frequency.

Will the app work on cheap Android phones?

It should, but we verify instead of assuming. We test BLE and background behaviour on a spread of low-cost phones used in India, and design permission prompts clearly. Some very old handsets may still have limits, which we document before launch.

Can the app work offline?

Yes for many cases. Direct BLE control can work without internet, and readings can be stored on the device or phone and synced later. We define which actions need a connection, and show clear states when the network drops.

How many devices can the cloud handle?

That depends on message rate, not just device count. We estimate load from your numbers, pick a setup that suits it, and note the point at which it must be resized. We will not quote a figure without your payload details.

Who owns the data and the code?

You own both. The cloud runs in an account under your name, and the app is published under your developer account. You receive the source code and the interface document on handover.
