Ecommerce App Development for Online Stores

A shopping app for your existing store or a new one, with synced catalogue, UPI checkout, wishlist and push notifications.

Ecommerce app development adds a mobile storefront to a store you already run, or builds both together. The app does not replace the website. It gives repeat customers a faster way to reorder, and gives you push notifications and a home-screen icon, which a website cannot offer. We treat it as one commerce system with two front doors.

NioDelta builds ecommerce websites and apps together, so catalogue, orders and customers stay in one place. We will also tell you plainly when an app is not worth building yet, because many stores should fix their website first. You receive a fixed quote, a clear feature list and a plain view of running costs.

What goes wrong with shopping apps

01

Catalogue in two places

If products and prices are edited separately on the site and in the app, they drift apart. One source of truth is essential. We connect both to the same catalogue so there is nothing to keep in step.

02

Low install, low use

Customers install many apps and open few. Without a reason to return, such as reorder or loyalty, the app sits unused. We design the first month after install, not only the install itself.

03

Checkout drop-off

A long form on a small screen loses buyers. Saved addresses, UPI intent and one-tap reorder cut abandoned carts. Pincode checks and delivery estimates before checkout reduce surprises.

04

Store policy surprises

Play Store and App Store have rules on payments, account deletion and privacy that can delay your launch if ignored. We prepare account deletion, privacy and payment disclosures in advance.

What ecommerce app development includes

01

Catalogue sync

Products, variants, prices, stock and images sync from your store, whether Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom backend. Image sizes are tuned for mobile data, since heavy photos slow browsing.

02

Search, filters and wishlist

Fast search, category filters, sort options and a wishlist that remembers items across devices when the customer logs in. Recent searches and recently viewed items help customers resume where they left off.

03

Checkout and payments

Saved addresses, pincode serviceability check, UPI, cards, wallets and COD through Razorpay or your existing gateway. Address autofill and saved cards, where permitted, shorten the path to payment.

04

Push notifications

Order updates, cart reminders and offers, sent with consent and segmented, so messages stay useful rather than noisy. Back-in-stock alerts are often more valuable than generic offers.

05

Orders and returns

Order tracking, invoice download with GST details, return and refund requests, and a support contact inside the app. Customers can raise a return from the order itself, with photos if needed.

06

Admin and analytics

Order management, customer list and basic sales reports, using your store's admin or a lightweight dashboard we add. We keep reports basic at first, so they are used, not ignored.

When this is the wrong choice. If your website is slow, has few visitors or converts poorly, an app will not fix that. Improve the store first. Also, a store with a small catalogue and a few orders a week rarely needs its own app yet. Wait too if your catalogue data is messy, because the app will display those errors to every customer.

How we build a shopping app

01

Discover

We review your store, platform, order volume and which customers would actually use an app.

02

Define

Features, integration method with your store and launch scope are fixed, with a written quote.

03

Design

Home, product, cart and checkout screens designed for thumbs, with fast-loading images for mobile data.

04

Build

Catalogue sync and checkout first, then wishlist and notifications, tested on real phones.

05

What it costs

Starts at ₹2,00,000 (excl. GST)

This is our mobile app anchor with the 50% launch discount applied. An ecommerce store alone starts at ₹75,000, so a store plus app is quoted together after a discovery call. The sync method affects effort, so we confirm it early.

  • Store platform and sync method
  • Number of product variants and filters
  • Payment options including COD
  • Notification and loyalty features
  • Custom admin needs

All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.

Questions we get asked

Do I need an app if I already have a store?

Not always. An app helps when customers reorder often, such as groceries, beauty or consumables. For one-time purchases, a fast mobile website usually works better. We will say honestly which case you are in. Many Indian stores get most orders on mobile browsers anyway.

Can the app use my Shopify or WooCommerce catalogue?

Yes. We connect through the platform's APIs so products, prices and stock update automatically. You keep managing everything in your usual admin, and the app reflects it without double entry. Custom backends need a small API layer first, which we scope.

Does the app support UPI and COD?

Yes. UPI intent and cards run through Razorpay or your existing gateway, and COD can be switched on by pincode or order value. We also handle payment failure and retry flows, which matter on mobile networks. Failed payments are the biggest silent loss on mobile, so we test them carefully.

Will push notifications annoy customers?

Not if used carefully. We set up consent, order-status messages and segments, with caps on promotional sends. Notifications that tell customers something useful, like a delivery update, keep the app installed. Consent comes first. Opt-outs are always honoured.

How long will the app take?

A mobile app MVP typically takes 10 to 12 weeks from signed scope. A store plus app takes longer, and we give a dated plan in the quote. Store review times add a few days at the end.

Who owns the app and the customer data?

You do. The source code, developer accounts and customer database belong to your business. We hand everything over at final payment, with documentation, so another developer can continue if you ever change vendors. This makes future changes cheaper for you.
