React Native App Development for Android and iOS From One Codebase
Android and iPhone apps built together in React Native, with native code where the phone demands it and over-the-air fixes for small updates.
React Native lets a team write one app in JavaScript or TypeScript and ship it on Android and iOS. The screens are real native components, not a web page in a frame. For businesses that already have a React website or developers, it is a sensible way to avoid maintaining two separate apps.
NioDelta builds with React Native alongside Flutter, and we choose per project. We use it when your team knows React, when you want to share logic with a web app, or when over-the-air updates matter. When the camera, Bluetooth or payments need native code, we write that part natively. We explain the trade-off in plain terms.
What to settle before choosing React Native
Will it feel like a real app?
A well-built React Native app uses native navigation, gestures and lists. A badly built one stutters. Performance comes from how list rendering, images and animations are handled, not from the framework label.
Native features at the edge
Bluetooth printers, background location, custom camera, UPI intent and some SDKs need native modules. Most exist as libraries, but a few need custom code. Knowing this early avoids budget surprises.
Library churn
The React Native ecosystem moves fast. Unmaintained packages and version upgrades can break builds. Choosing mature libraries and planning upgrades protects you from stalled projects.
Two stores, one release process
Even with one codebase, you still deal with Play Console and App Store review, signing keys and screenshots for both. Someone has to own that process every release.
Our React Native app development services
Android and iOS apps from one codebase
A shared TypeScript codebase with platform-specific code only where behaviour differs. This commonly saves a large part of the cost of two native apps.
Native modules and SDKs
Where a library does not exist, we write Kotlin and Swift modules for features like thermal printing, custom camera, background tracking or a vendor's payment SDK.
Over-the-air updates
With tools such as Expo EAS Update or CodePush alternatives, JavaScript fixes can reach users without a full store review. Native changes still need a normal store release.
Backend and admin panel
APIs in Node.js or Laravel, a web admin to manage users, orders and content, push notifications through Firebase, and analytics and crash reporting wired in from the start.
Performance tuning for low-end phones
Smaller bundles, the Hermes engine, optimised lists and image caching, tested on budget Android handsets that many Indian users carry, not only on flagship phones.
Migration and rescue
If your React Native app is slow, outdated or abandoned by its first developer, we audit it, upgrade the framework and fix the worst problems before adding features.
How we run a React Native project
Discover
We list the device features you need, the OS versions to support and the web or backend code that already exists. This shows how much can be shared.
Define
We pick Expo or bare React Native, choose libraries with care and agree a release plan for Play Store and App Store.
Design
We design for both platforms' habits, such as back gestures and tab bars, and for small screens and large text. You approve a clickable prototype.
Build
We deliver installable builds every two weeks through internal testing links, and test on real low-end Android phones and recent iPhones.
Ship & extend
We publish to both stores and monitor crashes. One month of support is included, with OTA updates for quick fixes and a maintenance plan for OS upgrades.
What it costs
That is our mobile app anchor, covering Android and iOS from one codebase, and an MVP typically takes 10 to 12 weeks. A fixed written quote follows a free discovery call.
- Number of screens and roles
- Native modules or hardware integration
- Backend and admin panel scope
- Payments and third-party SDKs
- Store submission for both platforms

Questions we get asked
React Native or Flutter, which should I pick?
Pick React Native if your team or website already uses React and you want shared logic and OTA updates. Pick Flutter for highly custom visuals and consistent behaviour across devices. Both reach Android and iOS from one codebase, and we recommend based on your situation.
Can React Native apps use native phone features?
Yes. Camera, GPS, biometrics, push and file access are covered by libraries. For unusual hardware or SDKs, we write native Kotlin or Swift modules and connect them to the JavaScript layer. Both choices are valid, and we explain which one is cheaper to run over three years.
What are over-the-air updates?
OTA updates send new JavaScript and assets to installed apps without a store review, useful for quick bug fixes. Changes to native code, permissions or SDK versions still need a normal store release, and store rules must be followed.
Is React Native fast enough?
For business apps, ordering, booking and dashboards, yes. We use the Hermes engine and optimised lists, and test on budget Android phones. For heavy 3D or game-like graphics, a native or engine-based approach is the better choice.
How long does a React Native app take?
A mobile app MVP usually takes 10 to 12 weeks, covering both Android and iOS builds, plus store review. Larger scopes, such as multi-role apps with payments and tracking, take longer, and we give a written timeline in the quote.
Can you take over an existing React Native app?
Yes. We start with a short audit of the code, dependencies and crash data, then give you a fix-or-rebuild recommendation. Sometimes upgrading and tidying costs far less than starting again. You decide after seeing the findings.
