Hybrid App Development for Android and iOS
One team, one codebase, two store listings. For founders and business owners who want a working app on Android and iPhone without paying for two builds.
Hybrid app development means writing most of your app once and shipping it to both Android and iOS. The word covers three quite different tools: Flutter, React Native and web-wrapper frameworks like Ionic. They behave differently on a low-end Android phone, and that difference is where most projects win or lose. We have seen all three approaches work and all three fail.
NioDelta is a Pune studio, founded in 2017, and we pick the tool after the discovery call, not before it. Some apps are right for hybrid. Some are not. We tell you which one yours is, in writing, before you pay for a build. Expect straight advice, a fixed quote and a named person to talk to.
Why hybrid projects go wrong
Wrong framework for the job
An Ionic wrapper that looks fine on a flagship phone can stutter on a Rs 8,000 Android. Teams pick the framework their developer already knows, not the one the app needs.
Two stores, one set of rules
Google Play and the App Store review differently. A hybrid app still needs separate signing, screenshots, privacy forms and review rounds for each store.
Native features bolted on late
Camera, background location, biometric login and push notifications all need native code under the hood. Discovering this in week nine blows the budget.
Savings that never arrive
One codebase is cheaper than two, but not half the price. Design, backend, testing on real devices and store work stay the same size.
What our hybrid app development covers
Framework recommendation
We compare Flutter, React Native and Ionic against your features, your users' phones and your team's future hiring. You get a short written reason for the choice.
Flutter apps
Flutter draws its own interface, so screens look identical across devices. It is our usual pick for apps with custom design, maps or animation.
React Native apps
A good fit when you already have a React web team or want to share logic with a web app. We use it where that overlap is real.
Ionic and web-wrapper apps
Sensible for simple internal tools, form-heavy apps and content apps. We say plainly where this approach reaches its limit.
Backend and admin panel
APIs, database, login with OTP, and a web admin so your staff can manage orders, users and content without calling a developer.
Store release and updates
We prepare listings, privacy declarations and builds for Play Store and App Store, handle review feedback, and plan how updates reach users.
How a hybrid build runs
Discover
A free call to map users, devices and must-have features. We ask which phones your customers actually carry.
Define
We settle the framework, screen list and backend scope, then send a fixed written quote.
Design
Clickable screens built for thumb reach and small displays. You approve flows before any code is written.
Build
Fortnightly builds on real Android and iPhone devices, including an older low-end handset, so problems show up early.
Ship & extend
Store submission, one month of post-launch support, and a plan for the next release.
What it costs
This is our mobile app anchor, with the 50% launch discount already applied. A 10 to 12 week MVP is the usual window; wider scope is quoted after a discovery call.
- Number of screens and user roles
- Native features such as maps, payments or background tasks
- Backend and admin panel size
- Third-party integrations
- Store compliance work

Questions we get asked
Is hybrid the same as cross-platform?
In everyday use, yes. Both mean one codebase for Android and iOS. Strictly, hybrid sometimes means a web view inside an app shell, like Ionic, while cross-platform includes Flutter and React Native. We explain which one your quote uses.
Will a hybrid app feel slow?
Flutter and React Native feel close to native for most business apps. Web-wrapper apps are slower, especially on cheap Android phones. We test on an older handset during the build so you see real behaviour before launch. Choose by the weakest device you must support.
How much cheaper is hybrid than two native apps?
Usually a meaningful saving on the app code, but not half. Backend, design, testing and store work are shared costs either way. Our mobile app work starts at ₹2,00,000, and we show you the split in the fixed quote. Treat any quote that skips these as incomplete.
Can I move to native later?
Yes. Your backend, APIs and design carry over. Only the app layer would be rewritten. Most businesses never need to, because hybrid apps handle payments, maps, notifications and login without trouble. The code is yours, which keeps that door open.
Do you handle Play Store and App Store submission?
Yes. We prepare listings, screenshots, privacy and data safety forms, signed builds and respond to review feedback. You own the developer accounts and the source code, so the app is never locked to us. This also keeps review delays predictable for your launch date.
Who owns the code?
You do. After final payment the full source code, design files and backend access are handed over. We keep nothing back, and any later developer can continue the project from our documentation. That includes admin credentials and cloud accounts.
