On-Demand App Development for Service Businesses

Customer app, provider app and admin panel that work as one system, with live tracking, dispatch and payouts built in.

On-demand app development is really three products in one: an app for the customer, an app for the person doing the job, and an admin panel for you. The hard part is not any single screen. It is making a booking move cleanly between all three, with money and location attached. Each piece must agree on who is booked, where they are and what is owed. Get that handshake right. Get that handshake right first.

NioDelta built this shape for Foodysh, a Nashik food delivery platform with customer, restaurant and rider apps plus admin. The same thinking applies to home services, laundry, pharmacy, repair, tutoring and similar models. We build the platform in stages, so you can launch one city and one service first. Ask us for the details.

Where on-demand platforms struggle

01

The supply side stays empty

Customers will not wait for a provider who never accepts. Dispatch rules, timeouts and fallback assignment decide whether the first month feels reliable. Pilot with a small, reliable group of providers first.

02

Live location drains batteries

Constant GPS polling kills a rider's phone by afternoon. Smarter update intervals and background handling matter more than a pretty map. We test tracking on a real ride, not a desk.

03

Payouts become a spreadsheet

Commission, cash on delivery collected by providers, refunds and weekly settlement quickly outgrow manual tracking. A ledger per provider keeps disputes short.

04

One city, then chaos

A system designed for one pin code often breaks when you add zones, service areas or a second city. Zones should be data, not code.

What on-demand app development includes

01

Customer app

Browse or request a service, book, pay by UPI or card, track the provider and rate the job. Built for fast reorders and weak networks. Saved addresses and repeat booking cut the steps to order again.

02

Provider or rider app

Job offers, accept and decline, navigation hand-off, status updates, earnings view and document upload for onboarding. Large buttons and low-data screens suit phones used outdoors.

03

Admin panel

Zones, pricing, provider approval, live order board, complaints, refunds and reports, all on the web. Role-based logins let your staff see only what they need.

04

Dispatch logic

Nearest-provider assignment, timeouts, re-assignment, and manual override for your operations team. Rules are configurable, so ops can change them without a release.

05

Live tracking

Map tracking with sensible update intervals, so customers see progress without draining the provider's battery. Customers and admin see the same live status.

06

Payments and payouts

Razorpay or similar gateway, COD handling, commission rules, provider ledgers and settlement reports. Cash jobs need ledgers too, not only online payments.

When this is the wrong choice. Do not build the full three-app platform before you have proved demand. If you have fewer than a few dozen jobs a week, start with WhatsApp bookings or a booking website and a simple admin. Build the apps once you know what customers actually order. A simple booking site is far cheaper to run for that test.

Building the platform in stages

01

Discover

We map one complete job from request to payout, naming every person and every payment along the way.

02

Define

Roles, zones, commission model and launch scope are fixed. You receive a written quote split by app.

03

Design

Flows for customer, provider and admin designed together so a status change reads the same in all three.

04

Build

Backend and dispatch first, then the apps, tested with real phones moving around a real area.

05

Ship & extend

Pilot in one zone, one month of support, then add zones, coupons or subscriptions.

What it costs

Quoted after a discovery call

Three connected apps are a larger job than our single mobile app anchor of ₹2,00,000 (excl. GST). We quote after a call because scope varies widely. Map and SMS charges are paid to the vendors, not to us.

  • Number of apps (customer, provider, admin)
  • Dispatch complexity
  • Live tracking and maps usage
  • Payments, COD and payout rules
  • Number of zones or cities

All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.

Questions we get asked

How many apps does an on-demand platform need?

Usually three surfaces: a customer app, a provider app, and a web admin. Some businesses start with the provider side on WhatsApp and one customer app. We scope the smallest set that lets you run real jobs.

Can you add live tracking like delivery apps?

Yes. We use map services with tuned update intervals so tracking is smooth without draining the provider's phone. Map API usage has a running cost, which we estimate for you during the Define stage. We also show you a cost estimate.

How do commission and payouts work?

You set the commission per service or category. The system records each job, deducts commission, tracks cash collected by providers, and produces settlement reports. Actual bank payouts can be manual or through a payout API. Your accountant gets a clean ledger for GST and TDS review.

Do you build the provider onboarding?

Yes. Providers register, upload documents such as ID or licence, and wait for admin approval. You control who goes live, which matters for trust in home service and delivery models. Rejected or incomplete profiles stay invisible to customers.

Can the platform expand to more cities?

It can, if zones are designed in from the start. We structure service areas, pricing and provider pools by zone, so adding a second city is configuration rather than a rebuild. Pricing rules per zone avoid hard-coded values.

How long will it take?

A single-service pilot with three surfaces often needs more than our 10 to 12 week MVP window for one app. We give a dated plan after discovery, and we can phase launch to start taking jobs earlier. Honest dates matter more than optimistic ones.
