SaaS Development for Founders Who Want Paying Customers, Not a Demo

We build the product and the plumbing around it: tenants, plans, billing, roles and onboarding. For founders and businesses turning a service into software.

A SaaS product is not only the feature your customers see. It is also tenant isolation, plan limits, invoices with GST, failed payment handling, team invites and an admin view for you. Founders often budget for the first and discover the rest after launch, when each missing piece costs a customer.

NioDelta is a Pune studio, founded in 2017, that builds SaaS products for Indian and export markets. We plan the account model and billing early, because they are the hardest things to change later. The feature set stays small enough to launch, then grows from real usage. You get a plan, not a pitch.

Where SaaS projects go wrong before the first paying customer

01

Tenancy decided too late

If customer data lives in one shared pile with no clean boundary, every report and every export risks leaking across accounts. Fixing this after launch means rewriting queries across the whole app.

02

Billing treated as a plugin

Subscriptions need trials, upgrades, proration, failed card retries and GST invoices. Wiring a payment button is the easy part. The lifecycle around it is what decides whether revenue is collected.

03

Too many features before any user

A long feature list delays launch and hides which part people actually pay for. Early customers usually want one workflow done well, with import and export, more than a full suite.

04

No view of who uses what

Without usage events and an admin panel, you cannot tell which accounts are active, who is near a limit, or why someone cancelled. Support turns into guesswork.

What we build in a SaaS development project

01

Multi-tenant architecture

We choose between shared database with tenant keys, schema per tenant or separate databases, based on your data sensitivity and customer size. Isolation is tested, not assumed.

02

Subscription billing

Plans, trials, coupons, upgrades and cancellations through Razorpay Subscriptions or Stripe. GST-compliant invoices, webhook handling and retry logic are part of the build.

03

Onboarding and roles

Sign-up with email, phone OTP or Google, workspace creation, team invites and role-based access. The first-run experience gets a checklist so new users reach value in one session.

04

Usage metering and limits

We record events such as seats, records or API calls, and enforce plan limits in the app. The same data feeds usage-based pricing if you want it later.

05

Admin and support console

A back-office for you to see accounts, plans, payment status and activity, impersonate safely for support, and change a plan without touching the database.

06

Integrations and API

Webhooks, a documented REST API and imports from CSV or Excel, since Indian customers will bring their data in spreadsheets. Connectors to Tally, WhatsApp or Zoho can be added per product.

When this is the wrong choice. If you have not spoken to ten potential customers, do not build a multi-tenant platform yet. A simple internal tool, a no-code prototype or an MVP with one tenant is cheaper to learn from. If only one company will ever use the software, that is custom software, not SaaS, and the architecture can be simpler.

How we take a SaaS idea to a live product

01

Discover

We map the customer, the single workflow they pay for, and how you plan to price it. We also note compliance needs such as GST invoicing and data location.

02

Define

We write the tenant model, plan structure and a launch scope that fits a first release. Features that can wait are listed with a reason.

03

Design

We design onboarding, the core workflow and the admin console on clickable prototypes. You test them with two or three real prospects before build.

04

Build

We build in short cycles with a working staging site each cycle. Billing is tested end to end with test cards and UPI in sandbox before real money flows.

05

Ship & extend

We deploy with monitoring, backups and an error alert, then support you for one month. After that we continue on a monthly plan as customer feedback arrives.

What it costs

Starts at ₹1,50,000 (excl. GST)

That anchor covers a focused first version of a web app with accounts and a core workflow. Multi-tenancy, billing and metering add scope, so the final fixed quote follows a discovery call.

  • Tenant model and data isolation level
  • Billing complexity: flat plans or usage-based
  • Number of roles and integrations
  • Reporting and admin depth
  • Mobile app alongside the web app

All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.

Questions we get asked

How long does it take to build a SaaS product?

A focused first version usually takes a few months, depending on scope. Billing, roles and onboarding add weeks that founders often forget to plan. We give a written timeline in the quote and release working builds along the way.

Should we use Razorpay or Stripe for subscriptions?

For Indian customers paying in rupees, Razorpay supports cards, UPI Autopay and e-mandates. Stripe suits international customers paying in foreign currency. Many products need both, and we build the billing layer so a second gateway can be added.

Do you build multi-tenant apps or separate installs per client?

Both are possible. One shared system is cheaper to run and update. Separate installs suit clients who demand their own data boundary. We recommend one after learning your customer sizes and security needs. Both can be migrated later if your customer mix changes.

Who owns the source code?

You do. After final payment, the code, designs and repository are yours, and we hand over deployment notes. There is no licence fee to NioDelta for running your own product. Your repository, cloud account and domain remain under your own login throughout.

Can you add features after launch?

Yes. The first month of support is included, and after that we work on a monthly plan or fixed scope per feature. We prefer to ship in small releases driven by what your first customers ask for.

How do you handle GST invoices for subscriptions?

The billing module stores customer GSTIN, applies the right CGST, SGST or IGST by state, and generates a numbered invoice for each payment. Your accountant should still confirm the invoice format against your own filing practice.
