Manufacturing Custom Software Development for MSMEs and Plants
Systems built around how your plant really runs: job cards, material tracking, costing and reports that standard ERP packages handle poorly.
This page covers custom software for manufacturing businesses, mostly MSMEs and mid-size plants in MIDC-type industrial areas. It suits firms whose process is specific: job work, batch production, make-to-order or mixed lines, where a standard ERP either costs too much or forces unnatural steps.
We do not start by proposing a full ERP. We look at where you lose time or money: a job card lost on the floor, material shortage found at the last minute, costing done a month late. We build for those gaps and connect to Tally or your ERP, so accounts stay where they are.
What manufacturers need from custom software
Job cards and routing that match your floor
Each product goes through its own steps and machines. The software must follow your actual routing, including rework loops and outsourced job-work steps, not an idealised flow.
Material and BOM tracking
Knowing what raw material is on hand, reserved and short, per order, prevents stoppages. Bills of material must handle substitutions and scrap you actually see.
Job costing you can trust
Owners want to know if an order made money. That needs material, labour, machine time and job-work charges tied to each job, captured with little extra effort from the floor.
Data entry that the floor will actually do
Systems fail when entry is slow or confusing. Short forms, barcode or QR use, and supervisors rather than operators entering data keep records accurate.
What we build for manufacturers
Production planning and job tracking
Orders broken into job cards with stages, due dates and responsible staff. A board shows what is late, so the plant head can act that morning.
Inventory, BOM and purchase module
Raw material and finished goods stock, bills of material, reorder alerts and purchase orders. Goods receipt checks against the PO before stock is added.
Job work and subcontractor tracking
Material sent out and received back from job workers, with challans, balances and rates. It replaces the notebook that never quite matches.
Costing and management reports
Per-job cost, scrap and rework rates, and on-time delivery views. Reports use the same data entered for planning, so no one keeps a separate sheet.
What it costs
Custom software is quoted after a discovery call, often after a visit to the plant. Cost depends on number of modules, shop-floor users, integrations and data migration.
Questions we get asked
Can you build around Tally instead of replacing it?
Yes, this is common. Tally stays your accounts system, and we build production, inventory and costing around it, with scheduled exchanges of vouchers or masters. We check your Tally setup first because customisation levels vary.
Do you visit the plant?
For discovery and kickoff, we can travel from Pune, Nashik or Mumbai when the plant is within reach, otherwise we work remotely with photos, videos and screen-sharing. Watching the floor in person is valuable, and we recommend it.
How long does adoption on the floor take?
It depends on the team and the change. Starting with one module, such as job cards, then adding others works better than a full switch. We suggest a short parallel run alongside your existing registers.
Is the software connected to machines directly?
Not by default. Direct machine data needs PLC or sensor integration, which is a larger specialised project. Most MSMEs get strong value from manual or barcode entry first. We note machine integration as a possible later phase.
