Manufacturing Web App Development: Dealer and Plant Portals
Browser-based portals for dealers, distributors and plant teams: order status, price lists, quotations and production visibility.
This page covers web apps for manufacturers: a dealer ordering portal, a quotation tool for the sales team, a customer page showing order and dispatch status, or a dashboard for the plant head. These are logged-in tools, different from the public company website.
Most manufacturers already run Tally or an ERP. The gap is the last mile: dealers phone to ask about dispatch, sales engineers rebuild the same quote in Excel, and the owner hears about delays late. A web app sits on top of your existing system and exposes only what each person needs.
What manufacturers need from a web app
Dealer self-service
Dealers want to see their price list, outstanding balance and order status without calling your office. Each dealer must see only their own data and their own negotiated rates.
Faster, consistent quotations
Sales engineers calculate quotes from material cost, process steps and margin. A tool that applies approved formulas gives consistent quotes and keeps a history of what was offered.
Plant visibility for management
Owners want to see orders in hand, jobs running and deliveries at risk in one view. Data often comes from shop-floor entries or the ERP, and must be simple enough to maintain.
Fit with your existing ERP or Tally
Replacing a working ERP is risky and costly. The app should read from and write to it through exports or an API, keeping one source of truth for accounts and stock.
What we build for manufacturers
Dealer and distributor portal
Login per dealer, tier-based pricing, order placement, order and dispatch status, and invoice downloads. Orders feed into your ERP or arrive as a clean file for your team.
Quotation and costing tool
Sales staff enter specifications and get a priced quote as a PDF, using your approved rates. Revisions are tracked so you can see what changed between versions.
Order and job tracker
Each order shows its stage, such as material, machining, finishing and dispatch, with the person responsible. Customers can see a simplified version through a link.
Management dashboard
Daily and weekly views of orders, dispatches, pending payments and delays, drawn from your systems. Simple charts for the owner, with detail one click away.
What it costs
Cost depends on the number of user types, how deep the ERP or Tally integration goes, and how much data must be cleaned. We give a fixed written quote after discovery.
Questions we get asked
Can the portal talk to Tally?
Often yes, through Tally's XML or ODBC options, or through scheduled export and import files. The right method depends on your Tally version and setup. We confirm what works with your data during discovery and do not promise live sync blindly.
How do dealers get access and stay secure?
Each dealer gets a login with a role, and you can disable access any time. We use secure password handling and, if you wish, OTP login. Data is separated so one dealer can never see another's prices.
Can the plant team use it on the shop floor?
Yes, with simple screens on a phone or shared tablet, large buttons and minimal typing. Shop-floor connectivity varies, so we design for slow networks and keep data entry short. We confirm the exact approach for your case during the free discovery call.
Is a web app better than adding modules to our ERP?
If your ERP vendor offers a dealer module that fits, that can be cheaper. Choose a custom web app when the vendor module is rigid, expensive per user, or does not fit your pricing and approval rules.
