Restaurant ordering and food delivery app development in India
Own your ordering channel with a restaurant website, customer app, rider app and kitchen dashboard.
For a restaurant, the big delivery platforms bring orders and take a large share of each bill. A direct ordering channel will not replace them. It gives regulars a cheaper route and gives you their phone numbers. Restaurant and food delivery app development is about building that route, and for startups, running a local delivery network.
NioDelta built Foodysh, a food delivery platform for Nashik with customer, restaurant and rider apps and an admin panel. We know the day-to-day problems of menus, kitchen timing, rider assignment and cash handling, and we build for restaurants and for local delivery startups. We start with the smallest scope that can take real orders.
What restaurants and delivery startups face
Commission eats margin
Aggregator fees plus discounts leave little profit on many orders. Customers who love your food still order through the app that owns the relationship.
Kitchen and orders out of step
Orders arrive by phone, an aggregator tablet, WhatsApp and walk-ins. Staff retype them, and a missed ticket becomes a refund.
Delivery is hard to run locally
A local delivery startup must assign riders, track orders, settle with restaurants and handle cash on delivery. Doing this on phone calls does not scale past a few dozen orders.
Menus change daily
Items go out of stock, prices change and combos appear. If the digital menu lags, customers order what you cannot serve.
What we build for restaurants and food delivery
Restaurant website with ordering
Menu, cart, UPI and COD, delivery area by pincode, and order status by WhatsApp. Built for a quick order in three or four taps.
Customer ordering app
Login by OTP, saved addresses, reorder, live status and push offers. One Flutter or React Native codebase serves Android and iPhone.
Restaurant partner app and kitchen dashboard
Orders appear with an alert, and staff accept, mark ready and mark items out of stock. Printable kitchen tickets are supported.
Rider app and dispatch
Rider assignment, navigation links, order pickup and delivery proof, and cash collected tracking. The admin sees every rider and order on one board.
Multi-restaurant marketplace
For startups running a local platform, we build vendor onboarding, commission rules, payouts and delivery charges by distance.
Table QR menus and billing links
Dine-in QR codes with ordering at the table, tied to your POS or billing system through an API where one exists.
How a food ordering build runs
Discover
We look at your order channels, menu changes, kitchen flow and delivery model. For startups we discuss vendors, areas and rider payout rules.
Define
We decide the apps needed, payment modes, commission and delivery rules, and POS links. The written scope shows each app and the admin.
Design
Menus and checkout are designed for fast ordering on small screens. Restaurant and rider screens use large touch targets and loud alerts.
Build
We build the apps and admin together and test a full order path across customer, kitchen and rider, including a cancelled order and COD handover.
Ship & extend
We help you release on the Play Store, run a pilot, and support you for one month. Offers, loyalty and new areas can be added after real orders.
What it costs
An ordering website with cart and payment starts at ₹75,000 as an ecommerce build, and a mobile app starts at ₹2,00,000. Multi-app delivery platforms are quoted after discovery.
- Number of apps (customer, restaurant, rider)
- Multi-vendor commission and payouts
- Live tracking and dispatch logic
- POS and billing integrations
- Play Store and App Store release
All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.

Questions we get asked
Can I really avoid aggregator commission?
Only on orders that come through your own channel. Aggregators still bring new customers. Your own site and app suit regulars, who you can reach by WhatsApp and offers, and who would otherwise pay platform commission.
Do you build all three apps for a delivery startup?
Yes. Customer, restaurant and rider apps with a shared admin panel, as in Foodysh. We often recommend starting with a smaller scope and one area, then expanding once order volume proves the model. Launching in one locality first keeps rider costs under control while you learn demand.
Does it support cash on delivery?
Yes. The rider app records cash collected, and the admin sees what each rider must hand over and what each restaurant is owed. UPI and card payments can run alongside it. End-of-day settlement shows each rider's cash and each restaurant's payout in one report.
Can it connect to our POS or billing?
If your POS provides an API or export, yes. We confirm this in discovery. Where it does not, we keep the order dashboard separate and print kitchen tickets, rather than promise a link that may break.
Do you handle FSSAI details on the site?
We can display your FSSAI licence number on the site and in the app, as is expected. The licence itself and the accuracy of what you publish remain your responsibility. You can also add hygiene ratings and other certificates if you hold them.
How long does an ordering app take?
A restaurant ordering website takes six to ten weeks. A mobile app MVP takes ten to twelve weeks. A multi-app delivery platform is scoped after discovery and depends on how much dispatch logic you need.
