Inventory Management Software for Indian Businesses
Stock, batches, barcodes and warehouse transfers with GST-ready documents, for traders, distributors and small manufacturers.
Inventory management software tells you what you hold, where it sits and what it is worth, without a monthly physical count to find out. For an Indian trader or distributor, it must also cope with GST invoices, HSN codes, returns, batch numbers and expiry dates, because those are where stock records usually go wrong. Clean opening stock is the base of every useful report.
NioDelta is a Pune software studio, founded in 2017. We build stock systems to order when ready-made billing tools cannot follow your way of working, and we also tell you honestly when an off-the-shelf product is the cheaper and safer choice for you. We recommend a package whenever it is the cheaper route for you.
Where stock records go wrong
Book stock differs from shelf stock
Entries made late, returns not recorded and transfers between godowns that nobody logged all create gaps. By year end, nobody trusts the numbers. Every movement needs a document, and the system should make that quicker than skipping it.
Expiry and batch losses
For pharma, food and cosmetics, selling near-expiry goods first matters. Without batch tracking, old stock sits behind new stock until it is written off. First-expiry-first-out picking and alerts keep short-dated goods moving.
Many locations, one truth
Shops, godowns and vehicles each hold stock. Without transfer documents, the same item gets counted twice or not at all. Transfers with an in-transit status close that gap.
Slow counting
Stock audits on paper take days and still miss errors. Barcodes and a phone scanner shorten the count to hours. A phone camera is enough to start; handhelds can follow.
What inventory management software includes
Item master
Items with units, conversions, HSN codes, GST rates, variants and reorder levels, imported from your current Excel sheet. Unit conversions such as box to piece are handled automatically.
Batches and expiry
Batch and serial numbers, expiry dates, first-expiry-first-out picking and alerts before stock expires. Recall reports show which customers received a given batch.
Barcode and scanning
Barcode labels, scanning from a phone or handheld device for receiving, issuing and stock counts. Labels can be printed from the system on a low-cost printer.
Multi-warehouse
Stock by godown, store or vehicle, with transfer documents and in-transit status between locations. Vehicle stock for van sales can be treated as its own location.
GST documents
Purchase and sales invoices, delivery challans, credit notes and returns with GST breakup, e-invoice and e-way bill support where needed. Returns reverse stock and tax together, so records stay consistent.
Alerts and reports
Low-stock, slow-moving and ageing reports, stock valuation, and daily summaries to the owner's phone. Valuation can follow weighted average or FIFO, whichever your accountant uses.
How we build a stock system

Design
Fast entry screens for the counter and the godown, plus owner reports that fit on a phone.
Build
Core stock and documents first, then barcodes and alerts, tested against a real week of your transactions.

Questions we get asked
Can it track batches and expiry dates?
Yes. Each receipt carries a batch number and expiry. The system suggests the earliest expiry first when issuing, shows near-expiry stock on a report, and alerts you before it becomes dead stock. This is common for pharma, food and cosmetics.
Does it support barcode scanning?
Yes. We generate labels and scan with a phone camera or a low-cost handheld scanner. Scanning speeds up receiving, dispatch and stock counts, and cuts typing errors. Hardware such as printers and scanners is bought separately.
Will it work for multiple warehouses?
Yes. Stock is held per location, and moving goods requires a transfer document with an in-transit status until the other side receives it. Reports can be viewed by location or combined across all. A transfer cannot be received twice, which prevents duplicate stock.
Is it GST compliant?
Invoices carry GST breakup, HSN codes and place of supply, and credit notes and returns adjust stock and tax correctly. E-invoice and e-way bill integration depends on your turnover and a provider, so we scope it per project.
Can it connect to my online store?
Usually yes. If your store runs on Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom site, we can sync stock levels both ways so you do not oversell. The sync method affects effort, and we confirm it during discovery.
How do we move our existing data?
You give us your item list and opening stock in Excel. We clean, map and import it in test runs, send back errors, and finalise on a cut-off date after a physical count. A clean opening count is the base of every report that follows.
