Hire Magento Developers for Large or Complex Stores

Experienced help for stores that have outgrown simple platforms, with plain advice on whether Magento is even the right tool for you.

Before you hire Magento developers, ask a harder question: does your store need Magento at all? It is a heavy platform. It suits large catalogues, complex pricing, multiple stores and deep custom logic. For a typical store with a few hundred products, it is more cost and more upkeep than you need.

We are a Pune studio, working since 2017, and we will tell you plainly if Shopify or WooCommerce fits better. If Magento is the right call, or you already run it, a developer from our bench can take on the build, the upgrades or the rescue. Our team will explain every trade-off in plain words before you commit any budget.

Common Magento problems we get asked about

01

Slow admin and slow pages

Magento stores slow down from heavy extensions, poor indexing, missing caching and an underpowered server. The fix is usually a profiling exercise, not a redesign.

02

Stuck on an old version

Older Magento 2 versions stop getting security patches, and upgrades break extensions. Each skipped release makes the next one harder.

03

Extension conflicts

Two extensions overriding the same function can break checkout. Developers who edit core files instead of using proper overrides make this worse.

04

Hosting that does not fit

A shared server cannot run a busy Magento store. Matching the stack, search service and cache layer to your traffic matters as much as the code.

What a Magento developer can do for your store

01

New Magento build

Catalogue structure, a theme built for speed, checkout with Indian payment methods and GST-ready invoicing. The scope is quoted after a discovery call, as Magento builds vary widely.

02

Version upgrades

We audit extensions, test on a staging copy and move you to a supported version. Anything that cannot be upgraded is flagged before work starts.

03

Custom modules

Pricing rules, approval flows, special shipping logic or links to your ERP, written as modules that do not touch core code.

04

Performance tuning

Caching, indexing, image handling, database queries and search setup. We measure before and after so you see what changed.

05

Migration off Magento

If the platform is too heavy for you, we move the catalogue, customers and order history to a lighter platform and set redirects.

06

Security and patch routine

Applying security patches on a schedule, checking admin access and removing unused extensions.

When this is the wrong choice. Do not pick Magento for a small catalogue, a thin budget, or a team with nobody to look after the server. Shopify or WooCommerce will cost less to build and run. Choose Magento when pricing, stores or integrations are genuinely complex.

How a Magento engagement runs

01

Discover

We review your current store, traffic, catalogue and server, or your plans if it is a new build. We note extension and hosting costs early.

02

Define

You get a written scope with a fixed quote for projects or a monthly arrangement for ongoing work, along with who handles server access.

03

Design

We plan catalogue structure, checkout steps and the theme approach, avoiding customisations that make later upgrades painful.

04

Build

All work goes through a staging copy and version control. Your live store changes only after you approve a tested release.

05

Ship & extend

We deploy during a quiet window, watch orders after launch, and support you for one month. A monthly arrangement can follow.

What it costs

Quoted after a discovery call

Magento work varies too much for a single starting figure. For reference, our ecommerce store builds start at ₹75,000 (excl. GST), but a Magento build with custom logic costs more.

  • Catalogue and store views
  • Custom modules
  • ERP or courier integrations
  • Hosting and search setup
  • Data migration size

All prices exclude 18% GST. See also website costs and app costs.

Questions we get asked

Is Magento still a sensible choice?

For large catalogues, multiple storefronts or complex B2B pricing, yes. For a standard store, it is often more than you need. We will recommend a simpler platform if that serves you better, even if it means a smaller project for us.

Can you take over a store another developer built?

Yes, after a code and server review. We check core file edits, extension health, version and performance, then list what to fix and what to rebuild. You receive the review before agreeing to anything further.

Who owns the code and the server access?

You own the code, the database and the hosting account. We work through your repository and accounts, and we do not hold anything hostage. Documentation and credentials are handed over when the engagement ends. We also verify that GST fields appear correctly on invoices.

How do you handle upgrades safely?

We copy your live store to staging, run the upgrade there, test checkout, payments and emails, and fix extension clashes. Only after you approve do we repeat the steps on production, with a backup taken first.

Do you work India hours?

Yes. The team works in IST with a regular call overlap, and we use WhatsApp or Slack for day-to-day questions. For urgent store issues, we agree on an escalation route in the written scope. Nothing is changed on your live store until you have reviewed it.

Can you build a multi-vendor marketplace on Magento?

It is possible, but often heavy and costly. For many marketplace ideas, a custom build or a lighter platform is more sensible. We scope this after a discovery call and give you a plain comparison.
