Website development for religious organisations, temples and trusts

Websites for temples, churches, mosques, gurdwaras and religious trusts. Event calendars, donations and live streams, built to be run by volunteers and committee members.

A place of worship serves people who often do not visit a website until they need something specific. A family wants the aarti time, a devotee abroad wants to watch the festival, a donor wants a receipt for the year. Website development for religious organisations is about making those few needs easy, quiet and dependable.

Most of these sites are looked after by trustees and volunteers, not by a technical team. We build with that in mind: simple updates, clear records for accounts and a design that respects the character of the place without decoration for its own sake.

What religious organisations struggle with online

01

Timings and events go out of date

Festival schedules, special services and changed timings are shared on WhatsApp groups and notice boards. The website is rarely updated, so visitors arrive on the wrong day.

02

Donation records are scattered

Gifts arrive by UPI, bank transfer, cash and cheque, and each is noted differently. At year end, trustees and the accountant spend days matching names to receipts and tax certificates.

03

Live streams buried in social media

Services are streamed on a video platform, but the link changes each time. Elderly members and those abroad cannot find the stream or the schedule in one place.

04

A site nobody can maintain

A volunteer built the site years ago and moved away. Nobody has the login, the hosting lapsed, and the content shows old committee members.

What we build for temples, churches and trusts

01

Institution website

History, deities or teachings, visiting information, dress and conduct guidance, committee, photographs and a contact page with map. Text is calm and readable, with large type for older visitors.

02

Event and festival calendar

Daily timings, festival dates, special services and community events in a calendar the office can edit in minutes. Visitors can subscribe to reminders and add events to their phone calendar.

03

Donation page and receipts

UPI and card donations through Razorpay, with a receipt sent by email. For trusts with 80G registration, we capture the donor details the receipt needs and produce records for your accountant. The trust and its auditor decide the receipt format and tax wording.

04

Live-stream page

One permanent page that embeds the current stream and shows the next scheduled service. When the stream is not live, the page shows timings and recordings.

05

Seva, booking and pooja requests

Online requests for pooja, seva, hall booking or counselling, with date, slot and payment where needed. The office sees all requests in one list and can confirm or decline with a message.

06

Multilingual and member communication

English, Hindi and Marathi in-house, with other languages through proper typography and native-speaker review. Notices can go to an opt-in email list or a WhatsApp channel.

When this is the wrong choice. If your organisation is small and your needs are timings, an address and a photo, a simple one-page site with a map and a Google Business profile is enough. A donation system with receipts is worth building when you collect regularly and a registered trust needs clean accounts.

How a religious organisation build runs

01

Discover

We meet two or three trustees or office-bearers and one volunteer who will manage the site. We ask who approves content, how gifts are recorded today and what the accountant needs.

02

Define

We agree the pages, calendar fields, donation fields and who can edit what, in plain language the committee can approve. You receive a written scope and a fixed quote.

03

Design

We design for respectful imagery, clear typography and phones used by older visitors. Photographs and text are checked with the committee, so nothing is published that the community would not approve.

04

Build

We build the site, calendar, donation flow and live-stream page, and train two people to update them. A test donation and a test receipt are run before launch.

05

Ship & extend

We launch with hosting and domain in the trust's name, backups on, and support you for one month. A written handover note lists every login and renewal date.

Questions we get asked

Can you handle 80G receipts for donations?

We can capture donor name, PAN where required and amount, and generate a receipt and a yearly record for your accountant. The trust remains responsible for registration, receipt format and tax wording, which your chartered accountant should confirm before we build. We then follow that format exactly.

Can we stream our services on the website?

Yes. We embed the stream from a video platform you already use, on one permanent page with the next service time shown. We do not host the video ourselves, since a streaming platform handles large audiences better and costs less.

Who can update the website after launch?

You choose. We train a volunteer or office staff member to edit timings, events and notices without code. Admin roles can be limited, so a single trustee approves changes before they go live, and every change is logged with the name of the person who made it.

Do you work with all faiths?

Yes. We build for temples, churches, mosques, gurdwaras, monasteries and trusts. We follow your committee's guidance on language, imagery and content, and we never decide religious matters ourselves. Each site is planned around that institution's own practices, calendar and community, not a fixed template.

Is online donation safe for our devotees?

Payments go through a licensed gateway such as Razorpay, so card and UPI details never sit on your site. Receipts are emailed and records are stored behind a login that only named office-bearers can use. We use encrypted connections and keep backups.

How long will the website take?

A simple landing page takes one to two weeks. A full website with calendar and donations takes six to ten weeks. Festival dates can set the deadline, so tell us early and we will plan the schedule backwards from it.
