Custom Software Development for Restaurant Groups
Software shaped around how your kitchens, outlets and delivery operations actually run, when ready-made POS and aggregator tools stop fitting.
This page covers custom software development for restaurant groups and food operators: central kitchens, multi-brand cloud kitchens, catering firms and chains with several outlets. It is for businesses whose process does not fit the standard POS, and who lose time or money to spreadsheets and manual transfers. Our discovery call starts with a week of your real orders and sheets, not a feature list.
Custom software is not the first thing a restaurant should buy. Start with an off-the-shelf POS and see where it breaks. If you keep exporting data to Excel to cost recipes, plan production, split stock between outlets or reconcile five order sources, that is the gap custom software closes. We only recommend a build when we can name the exact manual step it replaces.
Where restaurant operations hit the limits of standard tools
Recipe costing that follows prices
Ingredient rates move weekly, especially vegetables and dairy. Owners want plate cost and margin per dish updated from current purchase prices, not from a figure typed last quarter.
Central kitchen to outlet flow
A central kitchen prepares gravies and bases, then dispatches to outlets. The software must track indents, dispatch, receipt and wastage per outlet.
Multi-brand cloud kitchens
One kitchen running three brands has shared inventory and separate menus, orders and reports. Standard tools usually treat each brand as a separate business.
Catering and bulk orders
Event orders need quotations, headcount-based quantities, advance payments and a prep schedule. This is closer to project work than to a counter sale.
What we build for restaurant businesses
Recipe and costing module
Recipes with yield and wastage, ingredient rate history, plate costing and menu margin reports for owners and chefs.
Indent and dispatch system
Outlets raise indents, the central kitchen confirms and dispatches, and receipt is checked with quantities. Variance reports show where stock disappears.
Order hub for several sources
One service that collects orders from your website, calls and available partner integrations, and feeds a single kitchen queue and one report.
Accounting-friendly exports
Sales, purchase and GST-ready data in formats your accountant can import, with outlet-wise and brand-wise breakups.
What it costs
Custom software starts at ₹1,50,000 (excl. GST) for a focused first module. Cost drivers are the number of modules, outlets and user roles, integrations with your accounting and POS tools, and data migration from existing sheets.
Questions we get asked
Should a small chain build custom software or buy a POS?
Buy a POS first if you have fewer than a handful of outlets and standard billing. Build custom only for the specific gaps, such as central kitchen indents or recipe costing, and keep the POS for billing. A smaller custom module costs less and is easier to adopt.
Can custom software connect to my existing billing system?
Often yes, if the billing system offers an export file or an API. We check this in discovery, because a closed system with no export limits what we can read. In that case we may suggest a phased replacement instead.
Who owns the software and the data?
You own the code and the data on final payment, and we hand over source, documentation and hosting access. We recommend keeping a maintenance arrangement so changes and fixes are handled quickly, but that is your choice.
How do you migrate our existing Excel sheets?
We review the sheets with your team, clean inconsistent item names and units, and import them in a test environment first. Your kitchen manager checks a sample before go-live. Messy item names are the usual delay, so share your latest files early.
